Getting a Fire Permit for Candles

Romance is created with lighting
The flickering candles at restaurants.. Bamm!!
Dimming of the sky during a sunset.. DOUBLE Bamm!!
And weddings are supposed to be romantic
But no candles?? Unless.. You get a fire permit from the LA fire Department. Ok, how hard can that be?

I did some Internet scouring, read the County of Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Prevention Division's Open Flames and Candles requirement Sheet.. Ooh my!
..not leak fuel at a rate of more than 0.25 teaspoon per minute.. Ok stop! It's must simpler than that:)

call the Public Assemblage Division 213-978-3650
They'll lay out the rules for you. Which are..
- Limit 4 candles per centerpiece per table
- Candle flame must be 2" below rim of the holder
- Therefore, tea light holders have to be 4" tall (standard votives are 2.5" tall)
- They have passed floating candles, again keep that flame 2" below the rim
- Candles must be secured to a secured base, which means stick the candle holder down with double stick tape or floral putty to a glass or mirror. A tablecloth is not a secured base
- As for the centerpiece mockup, if its something low they don't need to see the sample. If its something tall, they want to examine the structure. They will not approve something top heavy.

& the Internet & blogs are wrong, they do not take appointments!
Just go to City Hall East at 200 North Main Street, on the 17th floor
They are open Mon-Friday 8am to 3pm

It's still free of charge. So that florist saying they paid $125 while a bride of theirs paid over $200.. Also wrong!

She said yes to the dress

My flower girl loved her dress
She practiced walking, and even twirling!

It was a random find by bridesmaid P, and the only one available in only one size. Ended up fitting perfectly, and she looks like a princess.
